The Internet can be a bewildering place. The Media, the software companies and the On-Line Services have done a terrible job of informing and educating the public. There's so much hype, flim-flam, distorted promises, inflated claims, hysterical over-reaction, murky waters, broken mirrors and general foolery that the average person, be they small businessman or just plain Joe Public, has little idea of what's true and what isn't. This, and the fact that the Web has become so "Over-Invented" is more than enough to befuddle the sharpest mind.

And what do we mean by "Over-Invented"?

The Web, as it was originally envisioned by it's founders, was to be a place where the average person, non-profit organization, educational institution or small business would have an equal footing with The Big Boys. As it has turned out, the big software companies have convinced just about everyone that they need teams of high-priced consultants, and expensive hardware and software to have a decent presence on the Web. In other words, they've been saying to us all, "No-one comes to the Web except by ME."

Rot.

It may shock some egos (including those who WANT to pay a lot of money-this makes them feel important), but a meaningful Web presence does not require a suitcase full of cash, a meeting room full of consultants, or this or that SPECIAL piece of software. Ask us; we've been around the Net since 1994, and we can show you how it's done simply and economically. Not everyone needs a $10-20,000 "e-commerce" (there's that phrase again!) site to benefit from a Web presence. Many businesses actually don't need an e-commerce site at all, just a good Web site that details who they are and what they offer.

Rates

For general consulting puposes, our rates are $60/hr, not including travel expenses. Amounts are due and payable when service is performed.
